When looking for reception sites, Shadowbrook truly exceeded all of our expectations, and we just knew it was the perfect place to celebrate our wedding. From the start of our appointment, Amy and Daryl made us feel so welcome and took the time to get to know us as a couple. We reviewed the large selection of menu options and focused on the details of the option that suited us best. After that, we toured the estate and the grounds where Amy painted a beautiful picture of what we would expect on our wedding day. The options really seemed endless and we knew it would make our wedding unique and special. By the end of our appointment we felt like part of the family. When I made the phone call to confirm that we wanted to celebrate our wedding at Shadowbrook, Amy expressed so much excitement that I knew we had made the right decision. We couldn’t be more excited that we chose the Shadowbrook as our wedding venue. The grounds are absolutely beautiful! The tree line entrance makes it feel like you’re not just “pulling into a parking lot”. The atmosphere of the Oak room is like no other. We love that the room overlooks the beautiful outdoor ceremony site. Whether winter, spring, summer or fall, you are bound to look out and see beautiful scenery. The chandeliers and antique chairs put a special touch on the room, not to mention the beautiful fireplace. The food selections are out of this world. Since the Shadowbrook once was used as a summer home, it gives off such a humble feeling. The amount of space and beautiful rooms given to us to use throughout the day to get ready in, host our cocktail hour in and have the reception in, is amazing! When we took our tour of the Shadowbrook, we knew before we left that this is where our wedding was going to be. From the minute we met you, you were such a delight. You asked us if we could tell you our “special story” on how we got engaged. We instantly felt comfortable with you and know that with all your help and hard work, come April 26, 2014, our wedding day will truly be a day to remember.             The Zweben Family has proudly owned and meticulously operated Shadowbrook since 1971. Over the years, they have had the pleasure of honoring many special requests by brides, garnering them an outstanding reputation for service, quality and impressive charm. Encompassing elegance for all seasons, the entire Shadowbrook estate is always in full splendor of the current time of year. From the moment you enter the tree lined drive, approach the authentic Georgian mansion and enter the exquisitely decorated foyer, you are enchanted by the season’s amazing blooms and foliage set on twenty secluded acres.  Shadowbrook’s unique half mile long tree lined drive entrance, makes it the ideal location to arrive via Horse Drawn Carriage. Many Shadowbrook brides have taken advantage of this wonderful opportunity to make a grand entrance on their most special day! One such special couple, featured in the Real Weddings section of Manhattan Brides Spring 2013 issue, not only arrived via a lovely Cinderella Coach, they continued the fairy tale theme throughout the entire event. Lindsay graciously walked down the aisle wearing only one shoe towards her “Prince Charming”, Tom who gently slipped the missing Glass Slipper on her foot…the day ensued with a “Castle” cake and flowers and room décor fit for royalty, truly making their Dreams Come True!

            Over the years, Shadowbrook has been transformed into everything from a “Paris” to“Vegas”, from a “Tropical Paradise” to “Winter Wonderland” and may become nearly anything you can imagine. An elaborate circus themed Masquerade Ball, complete with a variety of entertainers such as flame throwers, sword swallowers and illusionists, bedazzled guests at a recent exquisite wedding celebration. It was an affair to remember! A chocolate themed wedding, incorporating chocolate into every aspect from the smooth brown satin linens and chocolate infused lamb chops down to a decadent candy bar to was quite a treat!! Another Shadowbrook Bride and Groom had a casino themed wedding, complete with Black Jack, Poker and Roulette tables. Guests had the time of their lives at this black tie event, gambling away the chips provided by the bride and groom for this exciting day! There was also a spirited Halloween wedding which began with a “spooky” ceremony with gravestones and fog, where nearly all the guests as well as the bridal party wore elegant costumes. The day ensued with the Oak Room being decked out with coffins, skeletons, “trick or treat” candy bar, cobweb overlays on the tables and a wedding cake of fondant bats and a “ghoulish” cake topper.

            Shadowbrook understands that it is important to many brides to be the “only one” on their special day. Accordingly, the entire Shadowbrook estate may now be Exclusively Yours!  Your guests may privately enjoy the entire mansion and gardens and all they have to offer. Shadowbrook is always evolving and updating to accommodate the current trends and wishes of their Brides. They recently installed a state of the art lighting system in the Regency Room on the garden level, giving a myriad of choices to coordinate with your color scheme and décor.

            Besides other unusual requests, such as hot air balloon trips and brides arriving via motorcycle, Shadowbrook routinely accommodates special situations such as handicapped access, weather conditions and dietary needs. At Shadowbrook you can be assured of a seamless, carefree day as they take care of every intricate detail, even the ones you wouldn’t even think about. For all outdoor ceremonies and cocktail hours, every effort is made to ensure your beautiful garden event, however there is always a suitable indoor area reserved as well. If there is a possibility of inclement weather, you may decide up to 2 hours prior to your event to hold it indoors or out, giving the staff enough time to set up accordingly. Often times, guests are offered to be “in and out” where the food is set up indoors and you have the choice of utilizing the gardens, if desired. For your guests with special dietary needs, there is always vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options available upon request. Arrangements may be made for kosher and ethnic menus as well. For guests with physical challenges, the entire main level of Shadowbrook is handicapped accessible, with dual ramps coming in and first floor facilities available. There is even a wheelchair on premises that can be utilized as needed. Shadowbrook takes care of all the details, so you may fully enjoy your wonderful day.
